Parsy reads receipts and keeps the results. Everything below exists in the app today — nothing here is a roadmap.
01 · Scanning
Four ways in, one result.
- 01Camera. Point and shoot. Edge detection straightens the paper; poor light and creases are expected, not fatal.
- 02Photo library. Import shots you already took, several at once — they queue and read one after another.
- 03Long receipts. Photograph a metre of warehouse-store receipt in two or three frames; Parsy stitches them into one receipt.
- 04Email forwarding. Every household gets its own
@receipts.parsy.fyiaddress. Forward an e-receipt and it reads itself.
Parsy never connects to your mailbox. There is no Gmail or Outlook sign-in, no inbox scanning and no SMS. You forward what you want read.
Reading takes seconds and happens in the background — you can leave the screen and Parsy tells you when it is done. Scanning is capped per household: 100 receipts every 7 days on Individual and 200 on Household, 15 on Free with 30 in your first 7 days.
02 · The item ledger
Not “groceries $84.” Twenty-seven things you bought.
Every line becomes a record with a name, a price, a quantity, a category, a store and a date — searchable, sortable and permanent. Receipt totals are reconciled against the printed subtotal, tax and tip, so the arithmetic always ties back.

Your history, and — eventually — the neighbourhood's.
Parsy tracks what you paid for each product over time, at each store. That half is true from your second receipt and belongs to your household alone.
On top of it sits an anonymised aggregate: the typical price of a product at a particular store, pooled across households. It appears only once that product has been bought at least 10 times across at least 3 different households. Below that threshold nothing is shown — not a partial figure, not “based on 2 households”, not a placeholder. If you are among the first people using Parsy in your area, expect the empty state for a while.
Before any cross-household figure is shown to users, it must be supported by a minimum number of purchases drawn from several different households, so nothing we display reflects any single household's shopping. Statistics for health-sensitive product categories are never shown across households.
Privacy Policy — Approximate Location and Store-Based Inferences
Aggregates carry no account, household or receipt identifiers and cannot be traced back to a user. They exist so a price can be judged, not so a person can be.
04 · Household
One ledger, up to 6 people.
On the Household plan, everyone scans into the same history. Each receipt is attributed to the person who scanned it, and every member sees the same receipts, items and insights — that is the point of it, and it is worth knowing before you invite anyone. Sharing needs the Household plan; the Individual plan is one person.
- One owner per household: they invite, remove, rename, transfer ownership and manage the plan.
- Every member — the owner included — can leave or erase their own account at any time, without asking anyone. An owner cannot delete another member's account or personal data.
- Leaving moves you to a new, empty household. The receipts you scanned stay with the old one, attributed anonymously rather than to you by name.
- Invitations expire 14 days after they are sent, and the owner can revoke one before that.

05 · Corrections
Wrong once, right forever.
AI reading is very good and occasionally wrong. Any line can be fixed in a tap — name, price, category — and Parsy applies that correction to the product from then on. Corrections stay private to your household.
06 · Digests
A weekly note, a monthly close.
A short summary of the week's spending and anything notable in it, plus a wrap when the month closes. Notifications are yours to switch off, individually, in the app. Digests are part of the paid plans.
Things Parsy deliberately doesn't do
These are not gaps waiting to be filled. Each one is a decision the Privacy Policy depends on.
Read your mailbox
No Gmail or Outlook connection, no inbox scanning, no SMS. You forward what you want read, and that is the whole integration.
Track your location
The location permission is never requested and device GPS is never collected. Store names come from the receipt itself.
Connect to your bank
No account linking and no card numbers. Parsy only ever sees the receipt you send it.
Share anything publicly
There are no profiles, no feeds and no community features. Nothing you enter is public, and nothing leaves your household except anonymised price aggregates.
